Kilo3D is back! I’m building the first prototype and it is looking great.
Since I shot this video yesterday, I have almost finished building this first prototype. According to my calculations, the flying weight should come out very close to the targeted 25 ounces (700 g). The wing area is a generous 468 inches square (30.2 dm^2). I did not skimp on the power system with a Park 480 motor and 3S 2200 mAh battery pack.
The interest on this design has been strong, and I can see why. I expect it to be a tiger in the air. I went out of my way to make sure it is very strong and stiff. It is also very quick, easy, and inexpensive to build.
It would not surprise me if this becomes my favorite airplane to fly for fun.
