This product just earned a permanent place in my field box.
About Real Reviews
I buy every product I test. Nobody can make me sugarcoat my words. I pull no punches and say it as it really is.
If you would like to buy the product even after I point out its flaws, please do so by clicking on the product link in my review. If you do, the vendor may send me a small commission. Your price will be the same either way.

thanks
I haven’t heard from you in a couple of days. Did you get laryngitis, er, carpal tunnel?
It was a busy weekend. Took a couple of mates flying for the first time, learned a thing or two about the buddy box, then had a very social sat night and sunday. Life is good, very good.
I’m glad to hear. I was the official photographer at a nice sized scale meet this past weekend. I took about 800 pictures, though many were high speed shots of model airplanes flying by. Will be posting the best ones soon.
Look forward to the photos. What camera do you use for such events?
I invested about five years ago in a Nikon D200 DSLR. 10MP. Weighs a ton. Tammy actually bought a new compact camera for her trip because she did not want to have to carry mine.
Carlos, I really love your site as a source of unbiased information, but I’m starting to get annoyed by the number of affiliate ads you are placing all over your pages. Some of the Adsense ads actually overlay the content so I can’t read your text.
Though you claim that you do not get paid for your product reviews, you certainly do get paid commission as an affiliate of Hobbyking, Amazon and Google (Adsense) when visitors click on the links within your web site to go and buy these products (or simply visit the vendor’s site in the case of Adsense).
You have every right to do this, especially since you provide your expert information to the public on a voluntary basis, but I think it would be wise of you to include an explanation of your affiliations within your claim that you don’t get paid for the reviews.
Best regards.
I am continually making changes to the website, big and small. I recently made some big changes behind the scenes that may have affected the spacing of the elements in the blog posts. I have not noticed any cases where the text was obscured. If you could help me out by pointing to a specific blog post whose text is being obscured, I would most appreciate it.
My goal for the reviews is to lay out the good and bad qualities of the products without fear of reprisals from the product vendors. My disclaimer makes it very clear that I have no business relationship with these companies before I write the review. I stand by the words in the current disclaimer.
But you are also making an excellent point. Thank you for pointing it out! I am sure that it is obvious to most website visitors that the product links are affiliate links. Hey, you had no trouble identifying them! But it won’t hurt to make it very clear what they are. In the future, my disclaimer will read as follows. The first two paragraphs are the same as before.
About Real Reviews
Real reviews are unbiased product reviews. I pay the full retail price for every product I test. The review was not endorsed in any way, shape, or form. In other words, nobody is paying me to write nice reviews of their products.
In the most part, these are products that I use and like. But I do not hesitate to mention any issues or drawbacks to using them. I do not sugarcoat it. My goal is to be a reliable source of information. These are real reviews.
My goal is to help you make informed decisions by presenting all the good and bad features of the products that I review. If you would like to still purchase the product after I point out its flaws, please do so by clicking on the product link in my review so that I may receive a small commission directly from the vendor.
Okay. I found one case where the text in a post was getting overlapped. I made some system-wide changes that appear to have fixed the problem.
I should have explained earlier that I do everything related to the website. I set everything up and take care of all the maintenance. That’s how I tend to do things. I wrote the calculator by myself, and even set up my own publishing company when I wrote my books. The only exception is the RCadvisor logo – I cannot draw!
Carlos, you are amazing!
Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much for saying that. I do listen very carefully to all the feedback I get, and I do my best to learn from my mistakes.
