Lanner Falcon Landing - bird flying

This is an entirely different method for generating lift used by some experimental model airplanes.

Summary

The Magnus or Flettner effect is used to create lift. A round cylinder is rotated at high speed, forcing the air to slow down on one side of it and speeding up on its other side. Because of the Bernoulli principle, this causes a pressure differential. Just like a normal wing, this pressure differential manifests itself as lift.
